Malá Fatra National Park and Vrátna Dolina: Hiking for the Whole Family
The Malá Fatra National Park is one of the most beautiful in Slovakia. Since its establishment in 1988, it has protected the best of what Slovak nature has to offer within a relatively small area. Thanks to a huge variety of activities and hiking trails, it is one of the few destinations that guarantees a full-fledged holiday all year round.
Escape the stress of the big city and recharge your batteries in the quiet world of the mountains. In close proximity to our hotel, you will find:

- Wild gorges and waterfalls: The famous Jánošíkove diery full of ladders and waterfalls, the majestic Šútovský Waterfall, and the fascinating Tiesňavy canyon with the Mních and Ťava rock formations.
Hiking Trails and Areas of Malá Fatra
For better orientation, the Malá Fatra National Park can be divided into three comprehensive areas:
1. The Area of Jánošíkove Diery and the Rozsutec Peaks One of the most attractive parts not only in Malá Fatra but in all of Slovakia. It offers adventurous hiking in the Jánošíkove diery canyon system and ascents to the iconic peaks of Malý and Veľký Rozsutec. (For more detailed information, please see our dedicated page about Jánošíkove diery.)
2. The Ridge Area of Malá Fatra and Vrátna Dolina The main ridge of the national park offers unforgettable all-day hikes with panoramic views. Vrátna dolina, on the other hand, is the heart of winter sports and the starting point for the Chleb cable car, which significantly eases access to the ridge.
3. Terchová and Tiesňavy Get to know the birthplace of the legendary Juraj Jánošík, visit the Terchovské srdce observation tower, and walk through the gateway to Vrátna dolina – the impressive Tiesňavy rock canyon.
